KARMA
The Hindu concept of karma originates from one of the four purposes of life, being karma( the pursuit of pleasure) artha (the pursuit of propserity), dharma (way of life) and moksha (which is liberation). Karma is connected to the concept of reincarnation, the total of positive and negative experiences on others’ lives contribute to our after life - hence reincarnation.
The Hindus believe that while the physical body may decay and eventually die, the soul of the person cannot be “killed". The karma from our past lives is carried by the soul from one birth to another and the purpose of life is to accumulate enough positive karma by following the path of dharma so that we may attain liberation from rebirth, or moksha.
